Mindset Monday- Come Home
*updated July, 2025
Come home to yourself.
That can feel scary when you don’t quite know what that means or who that person is.
In the past few years you’ve taken on new identities, new layers and versions of yourself.
Wife, co-worker, homeowner, neighbor, mom, advocate, cheerleader, supporter for all of the things in your life, all while still feeling like you’re trying to figure it all out.
And then something new happens and requires us to make a shift or a choice.
When Life Feels Overwhelming
Life has a way of sneaking up on us, like a frog in a pot of water. Slowly heating up, pressuring us from different angles so that we sense the changes, but can’t name them yet. When we feel lost and swirling, it’s a good time to do a Glow Check. A one-minute pause to check in with our energy to notice where the strains and drains are happening.
It’s a moment to evaluate your capacity to handle ‘all the things’, ground you in the moment and let your inner authority, your intuition come through to guide you back home to yourself. Reconnect with what really matters — download your free Glow Check now.
Home is a Feeling
Once you have checked in with you Glow Energy, you have the guiding light to follow you back home to yourself. Having this connection is the support you need when life throws that curveball at you, even if it’s something you chose like starting a new job or making a big life change. Sometimes starting something completely new feels like a lot, too much to add to our plate when we already feel like we aren’t managing our chaos well.
One way to connect with that feeling of home within yourself is to remember a time that you felt solid, grounded. Revisiting an old favorite can feel like a new beginning, but in a reunion sort of way, bringing it into your present life. It can help ground us, give us a more solid footing and serve as a reminder of who we’ve been, who we still are deep down.
Home is a feeling, not a place.
Home always leaves the light on for you.
So this week, let’s come home to ourselves.
Home is what whispers “you are safe, you are loved and I am so proud of you.”
Ground Yourself
What does coming home to yourself look like for you? In those moments after you check in with your Glow, ask yourself what those depleted parts of you need to feel grounded, secure, even when life around you feels like a swirling storm of chaos. Returning home to parts of yourself creates an opportunity to reset and replenish your Glow and sink into the feeling of the light welcoming you back into yourself.
One suggestion to support yourself in these moments is to reset your Creative Glow. Creative Glow is the energy of imagination, self-expression, and play — not just in art, but in how you move through life. When your Creative Glow dims, it often shows up as:
Overthinking your ideas
Feeling uninspired or frozen
Doubting that your voice, vision, or “thing” matters
Craving more color, movement, or soulfulness
This could look like taking time to revisit old hobbies from when you were in 2nd grade, do something that brings back good memories and gives you a reminder of who you are within.
Some other ideas you can try, right in the middle of your swirling, busy life include-
Dance weirdly in the kitchen because movement frees stuck energy and reconnects you to delight.
Connect with an old friend with a handwritten card or a phone call to connect with someone who knows a true version of you
Listen to an old mixed CD or create a playlist of your favorite songs from junior high or high school to channel a moment that lights you up
Rearrange a small corner of your home because your environment shapes your energy and ideas and create a spark
Pull out one of those vintage outfits lurking in your closet or try a retro hairstyle or makeup trend
Reread a favorite book from childhood because stories can reveal truths we have been avoiding
Make your favorite recipe your mom used to make because it creates a sense of comfort
Check in with your Glow and let it be your light to guide you back home to yourself. Reclaim your energy (and your day) — and feel more confident navigating life. The Glow Check shows you how.
What is something that reminds you of your true self? What is a hobby or something you used to enjoy that you will give a try this week?
Leave a comment and share where you feel stuck in the swirl and what idea you’ll play with to feel like you are coming home to yourself.
